As an adult, we often lose the imagination we had as a child. As an author, I am reminded of how important it is to have imagination.

:
In my younger days, my imagination was inspired by great authors; Ernest Hemingway, Herman Melville, John Steinbeck
Days of watching the big screen movies, with popcorn in hand. Those characters jumping off of the screen into my imagination.
After seminary and attending a university, I found myself in a business and management career. Those years with my interacting with people, gave way to the desire to paint words on paper. Words that would take the reader to faraway places, and inspire their imagination for a lifetime.
My style of writing depends on which hat I am wearing. At the time I might write a children book, teen book, young adult, or adult. After all are we not all of those chapters within us?
Just as the characters are different in a good novel, so is your writing style. You do not have to write from a box. You can explore your style outside of the box. I like to think we are not just creatures of thought. But rather creatures of imagination.
